The Group are certain that from their extensive list of contacts ( currently some 30,000 people) they can establish a series of extremely strong sounding boards which could provide valuable opinion on rural topics and issues. It would be desirable to create a range of boards to test whether different viewpoints exist from different sets of people.
Two boards have been established covering principal and parish councils and these are canvassed three times a year. Further priorities are to establish a board presenting ordinary rural resident views and one representing younger people in the countryside . Probably a budget of approximately £3k to £4k would cover this area of work.
